Account Executive, International Defence (UK MOD)

As an Account Executive, you will use your skills and experience to discover and win new business and strategically develop accounts. You're excited about bringing your experience and skills into a team transforming how UK Defence  thinks about managing risk in real-time.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales growth through prospecting, qualifying, progressing and closing opportunities  
  • Be an expert on Dataminr’s First Alert platform, developing a deep understanding of the value of publicly available information and social media awareness
  • Understand each customer’s mission sets and operating processes in order to gauge their pain and compellingly articulate Dataminr’s solution to that pain
  • Retain and expand in line with Dataminr growth ambitions, the UK Defence account
  • Build and maintain strong, effective and enduring client relationships at a senior level, at both user and buyer organisations
  • Map account stakeholders, gauge and shape procurement decision-making, track and communicate budget cycles and other key information necessary to land, manage and grow accounts
  • Conduct quarterly customer reviews to ensure service and product quality remain exemplary and to identify growth opportunities
  • Attend various industry events, trade shows and focused symposiums to drive client expansion/upsells, increase brand awareness and value proposition
  • Offer thought partnership to key customers on relevant topics

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of enterprise software or SaaS new business sales and account management experience with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Knowledge of UK Defence, with an associated network and credibility
  • Ability to deliver consistently against targets
  • Extensive knowledge of Defence procurement procedures and Defence Digital
  • Experience with bid writing and/or tender management is a plus
  • Deep understanding of sales and account management best practice and business drivers for public sector clients
  • Ability to communicate novel concepts to a wide range of audiences, including technical and non-technical customers
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with an emphasis on communicating both orally and in writing with senior leaders and decision makers
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience reporting sales pipeline and tracking opportunities  Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Must be willing and able to travel (domestically and internationally) as needed, approx. 25-50% of the time
  • Must possess the appropriate security clearance to operate within public organizations or willing to get the relevant security clearances if required
