MatX's mission is to make the world’s best AI models run as efficiently as allowed by physics, bringing the world years ahead in AI quality and availability. MatX is seeking silicon verification engineers to join our team as we create best-in-class silicon for high-performance and sustainable GenAI. Successful candidates for these roles will be responsible for delivering performant and functionally accurate silicon for MatX products across compute, memory management. High-speed connectivity and other key technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement Firmware for AI compute platforms.
  • Hands on work with bringing up BMC firmware, including, but not limited to - write BMC initialization code for various chip subsystems, performance analysis and coding various manageability features.
  • Customization of vendor provided firmware code for the company’s unique use cases
  • Developing and reviewing code, writing and reviewing design documents, reviewing QA test plan and working closely with all team members to achieve consensus for design and testability as per product requirements.
  • Designing solutions for errors, stats & configuration appropriate to CPU, DIMM, PSU, BMC, FPGA, CPLD etc. to enable 24x7 operation using smart error diagnosis and recovery.
  • Designing and developing performance optimized active monitoring BMC solutions using DMTF Standards including MCTP, Redfish, SPDM and PLDM specifications
  • Instrumenting code to ensure maximum code coverage, writing and automating unit tests for each implemented module and maintain detailed unit test case reports
  • Providing software quality reports based on static analysis, code coverage, CPU load.
  • Working with the security team to ensure developed code is in line with product security goals. Working closely with hardware teams to influence hardware design and review HW architecture & schematics.

Requirements:

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with 8+ years of experience in the following areas
  • Primary domain expertise - Embedded Firmware development - sensor monitoring/telemetry, BMC CPU mailbox communication, firmware update etc. 
  • U-boot, device tree, Linux Kernel
  • Board bring-up hands-on experience. Working knowledge of I2C/I3C/SPI/PCIe/SMBus protocols and their linux device drivers and userspaces.
  • Out-of-band and in-band system management. Experience with DMTF standards
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills. Scripting using bash, python etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux, linux packaging/distribution. Experience with build, deploy, upgrade of linux packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with OpenBMC is a plus. 
  • Contributor to industry standards like Open Compute, OpenBMC, IPMI, DMTF Standards, and open source.
  • Expertise in system software and platform security for x86/ARM based Rack/Blade server systems.

Compensation: The US base salary for this full-time position is $120,000 - $400,000 + equity + benefits
