We seek an Associate General Counsel to be the lead advisor on corporate counseling, strategic transactions, securities compliance, and internal security. A dual affiliation with the OpenAI Startup Fund advising on investments and fund operations is also a possibility. You'll report to OpenAI's General Counsel and work closely with our Legal, Finance, People teams and external counsel.
Responsibilities
- Lead corporate governance and structuring initiatives
- Be the principal counsel on strategic transactions
- Own all securities counseling and compliance
- Work closely with our security teams on infosec and incident response
- Become an expert in AI legal matters and help propose and advance AI legal policy positions
Job Requirements
- Have at least 10 years of combined legal experience at innovative technology companies and technology-focused law firms
- Have a strong sense of ownership, are inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Have a JD and license or qualification to practice in CA
