We have significant runway thanks to funding from leading US investor Bessemer Venture Partners (LinkedIn, Twilio, Shopify), alongside Episode 1 (Zoopla, Betfair, Shazam) and supply chain-focused fund Dynamo Ventures (Sennder, Stord).
Role Overview:
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Raft, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s growth and expansion. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying leads, engaging with potential clients, and driving new business opportunities. Your primary objective will be to generate interest, nurture relationships, and ultimately secure new customers.
What you will do:
- Prospect and Generate Leads:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients within the target market.
- Utilize various sources such as industry directories, contact lists, social media, online platforms, and referrals to identify and generate new leads.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's SaaS products and value proposition to effectively communicate with potential customers.
- Engage with Prospects:
- Initiate outbound calls, emails, and other forms of communication to engage with prospects.
- Deliver compelling and personalized presentations and demonstrations of our SaaS products to prospective clients.
- Address any questions or concerns raised by potential customers and provide accurate information to facilitate the decision-making process.
- Qualify Leads:
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to determine the suitability of potential clients for our SaaS solutions.
- Identify key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Evaluate prospects' pain points, goals, and budget to assess their readiness to purchase our products.
- Transition qualified leads to the relevant sales representatives to close.
- Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients through regular follow-ups and ongoing communication.
- Provide timely and relevant information to prospects to nurture their interest in our SaaS solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop customized strategies and campaigns to engage potential customers.
- Sales Pipeline Management:
- Utilize CRM software to track, manage and report on leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with prospects.
- Continuously update the sales pipeline with progress and report on key metrics to the sales management team.
- Optimize and expedite the qualification and transition of leads to the sales team.
- Close smaller deals that have been allocated by sales leadership.
- Inbound Lead Qualification
- Evaluate and qualify leads generated from marketing activities as required.
What you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Representative, or a similar role within the freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or supply chain industries.
- Understanding of sales performance metrics and ability to meet set goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
- Experienced at cold calling, prospecting, qualifying leads and closing deals.
- Experience with CRM and sales software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dealhub).
- Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset.
- Target-driven, with a demonstrable track record in sales.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment.
- Prior experience with SaaS products in the supply chain industry preferred.
