Head of Strategic Finance

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Finance leader who will own financial planning, business forecasting, and product pricing strategy. You and the team will provide analysis to support contract negotiations, growth opportunities and influence corporate strategy. You will report to our CFO, and partner with the Executive Team, to bring financial and strategic insights to drive operational performance. 

As a leader in the Finance team, you will be both quantitative and qualitative. The right candidate will also be a committed people leader that contributes to building a world-class Finance Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
  • Lead and perform financial analyses for a variety of strategic decisions including Annual Operating Plan, M&A, strategic investments, partnerships and capital market transactions.
  • Provide recommendations to executive management based on both financial and strategic implications of investment decisions. Identify business drivers and risks and present these to Executive Team.
  • Construct detailed ad-hoc analyses (scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, and contingency planning) to support the internal investment decision-making process.
  • Play a significant role in the preparation of board materials and reporting to facilitate effective decision making.
  • Build dynamic, detailed and scalable financial and operational models driven by key financial and operational metrics to facilitate scenario analysis.
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate key business initiatives including new products, strategic partnerships, and more.
  • Run the long-term planning process with a focus on operational and financial benchmarking, coordinating with the FP&A team.
  • Interpret key operational performance indicators, growth trends, and competitive positioning to inform strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Work cross-functionally to implement critical initiatives and processes across the organization.
  • Design, automate, and optimize processes, technology and systems to scale; Spread accountability and financial discipline throughout the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to create detailed business cases to evaluate and support decision making through ROI/ROE analysis.

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional Excel / financial modeling skills including M&A, capital markets and valuation experience
  • Experience communicating and building relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Strategic thinker to drive analysis, change and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire trust across the organization and provide mentorship to team
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment and exhibit flexibility
  • Executive level presentation skills
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise-level financial planning systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience at a public company a plus
