This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to handle the day-to-day chaos that comes with the growth profile of a start-up company moving towards commercialization.  The successful candidate will have spent considerable time launching new operations and/or new products in an automotive, fleet, or technology product environment. This position requires partnership with Supply Demand Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Fleet, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to implement new processes and manage changes. While adhering to a high level of inventory accuracy across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple small warehouse hub operations, in a way that best suits the company's vision and policies
  • Modernizing inventory and fulfillment operations and warehouse technologies
  • Overseeing receipt and proper storage of service and maintenance products
  • Be an integral part of choosing and implementing an inventory control system
  • Controlling and verifying the inventory levels by conducting regular physical counts and reconciling with the data system
  • Maintaining physical conditions at all sites: 1) general cleanliness and 2) organization, layout and design in a way that will ensure maximum space utilization
  • Writing and establishing SOPs for all process and procedures and protocols for proper storage and fulfillment
  • Coordinating with the Shipping/Logistics Supervisor and Manager to schedule outbound orders on milk runs and hot shot orders
  • Working directly with the Purchasing department to ensure proper stocking levels are maintained and servicing and maintenance teams are never out of parts needed
  • Managing fulfillment staff and their daily operations: assign tasks accordingly, monitoring tasks, and appraise job results
  • Complying to all company policies as well as any federal, state or local requirements/legislation

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering or Business is required
  • Minimum 8+ years of proven work experience as an Inventory Manager
  • 8+ years of operational experience within logistics, fleet maintenance, or technical operations
  • Experience with 5S, GK, and/or Lean
  • Have extensive experiences with both internal and external audits of inventory
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and standardize over multiple sites
  • Demonstrated Experience: In program management including critical thinking, strong written and verbal communications, and ability to lead within a matrixed team.
  • Comfort/familiarity with constructing presentations, organization communications, and business cases
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve deadlines in a fast movinging and ever changing environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with ability to meet project timelines.
  • Strong computer proficiency
