The Manager of Government Relations, will monitor, analyze, and track federal and state regulatory activities, hearings and legislation for issues that impact Socure and our customers as we seek to expand our new Public Sector organization.  Socure enables government agencies to gauge whether an identity is real and belongs to the person applying for access to government benefits and services.  Socure helps agencies modernize their approach to serving citizens, providing highly-accurate, fully-automated decisions on identity; significantly reducing or eliminating the need for manual reviews; and improving program integrity and protecting taxpayer dollars from fraud.

This individual will work as a key member of the Government Relations team at Socure.  The individual will support the Vice President of Government Relations in driving Socure’s engagement in legislative, regulatory and market shaping activities tied to company sales and policy objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track legislative and administrative activities related to issues of importance to the company.
  • Develop summaries of legislative activities including federal and state hearings, as well as industry trade meetings on issues of importance.
  • Support the work to actively shape legislative and regulatory activities by establishing and maintain high-level relationships with government and industry stakeholders who have position/authority to drive market awareness of Socure's Public Sector growth objectives.
  • Map and identify procurement opportunities at the federal, state and local levels for Socure's best-in-class identity verification and fraud solutions.
  • Analyze budgets, agency contracts and spending plans to support sales motions and prioritize engagement.
  • Support the management of consultants (federal & state) who can assist Socure's public sector team to win procurement opportunities.
  • Keep Socure’s executive team and customers informed about policy developments that may affect the company’s goals, products, and services.
  • Attend meetings and events on behalf of Socure.

Job Requirements

  • 6-8 years in public policy with experience shaping federal and state legal frameworks in response to the technological transformation of financial data and payments, benefit programs and the emergence of industry innovators.
  • Possess knowledge of key policy areas and key figures in Washington, DC and in the states.  This individual will exhibit broad understanding of political dynamics, leading trends and changes in advocacy, and political and regulatory landscapes.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.
  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands.
  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, or related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the legislative and political process.
