Delivers medicines from Pharmacy to Nursing Units and returns discontinued medication from Nursing Units back to Pharmacy accurately and on a timely basis. Unpacks and arranges medication received in the Pharmacy from agents.

Quality and Accuracy:

• Arranges medication for delivery by the Nursing Unit.
• Prioritizes medication for delivery to Nursing Units.
• Delivers of urgent orders immediately.
• Delivers routinely ordered medication on a timely basis and accurately.
• Delivers floor stock on a timely basis and accurately.
• Returns discontinued medication from Nursing Units to Pharmacy.
• Ensures all deliveries are accurate (correct Nursing Unit, dose bin).
• Ensures completion of all documentation:
  • Obtains the signature of the person receiving.
  • Ensures that return for credit forms are filled.
• Unpacks medication deliveries.

Quantity/Organizational Skills:

• Arranges stock in the correct location and alphabetical order.
• Identifies medication requiring special storage conditions.
• Reports of any short expiry/expired medication are noticed within any pharmacy storage locations.
• Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner as required or assigned.
• Supports hospital policies and serves as a professional role model for all staff.
• Supports in inventory in Pharmacy locations.
• Ensures arrangement of medication on appropriate shelves in the pharmacy.
• Checks expiry of medication designation locations.

• High School Diploma

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or related settings
• Knowledge of stock rotation, expiration date monitoring and others
• Skills in performing functions accurately
• Excellent English verbal communication skills
