Senior Manager, Connections & Community

This role will be responsible for delivering smooth and seamless events and connections as part of our Remote First Hybrid (RFH) model and will scale the program globally as we grow.

As the Senior Manager of Connections and Community, you will be a key leader on our Workplace Experience and Connections team and will play a significant role in how we meet and collaborate at Grammarly, driving our culture forward.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the successful ideation, execution, measurement, and evolution of Grammarly’s global connection and events program. This includes global remote and team in-person connections a few weeks per quarter. This also includes events, company celebrations, and employee programs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their business objectives and translate them into clear experiential strategies with measurable impact, and successfully deliver event concepts, programming, and production that consistently raise the bar for Grammarlians and meet our internal partners' vision and goals.
  • Mentor and upskill our internal events team.
  • Manage a team of events coordinators, as well as external vendors and contractors.
  • Identify ways to execute events and connections in both virtual and in-person settings to create a great experience for all Grammarlians.
  • Work directly with the Global Head of Workplace Experience and Connection and other leaders to ensure our gatherings reflect our company goals and objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of pre-event planning, onsite logistics, and post-event surveys and data reports.
  • Work with the Learning & Development team to identify in-person training opportunities.
  • Liaise, negotiate, and collaborate with key partners to ensure delivery of all event requirements (AV/IT, Travel, Marketing, Workplace Experience, Procurement, and Finance) in a fiscally responsible and ethical way.
  • Establish standard processes and project manage the the execution of in-person events with an eye on creating efficiencies (i.e., FLOW) and promoting ways to help with productivity and connections.
  • Always be on the lookout for evolving methods to innovate the attendee experience.
  • Travel to support larger, business-critical events to ensure seamless execution and that maximum value is delivered to Grammarlians.
  • Create and evolve culture and community-driven initiatives.
  • Partner closely with our employee Circles (ERG groups) to deliver events that celebrate the diversity of our company and model inclusion.
  • Plan and support external events, which can be anything from hosting clients to partnering with Recruiting on job fairs.
  • Ensure the Grammarly brand is properly reflected and represented at all events.
  • Own partnerships with nonprofit organizations to roll out opportunities to give back to our communities during in-person days. Grammarlians come together two to four times a year during in-person weeks to make positive impacts in their local communities by going offsite together and giving back for the day. This role would own the organization and execution of that day.

Job Requirements

  • Has experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Is highly efficient, has strong attention to detail, is skilled at juggling multiple tasks and managing their time, and takes ownership of their mistakes.
  • Passionate about curating unique gatherings, connecting with people, and building effective, trusting relationships with team members.
  • Has 10 or more years of experience in large-scale event management, operations, and strategy, ideally working for global organizations.
  • Displays strong project management and event programming experience along with a hospitality mindset.
  • Has expertise in all stages of the event management process - from site selection to execution.
  • Thrives in a startup culture and likes wearing multiple hats.
  • Is confident in presenting new ideas that excite, engage and energize peers and leadership
  • Is skilled at culture-building and understanding what drives engagement in the workplace.
  • Is a strong communicator and has excellent skills in written and spoken English.
