The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring conformance with production processes and inspecting incoming product to ensure that Quality Standards are met. The Quality Inspector is a critical role in the manufacture of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Review assembly documentation for correctness and completeness
- Witness assembly, lay-up, and torque operations
- Complete dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies
- Inspect raw materials, piece-parts, and final assemblies
- Generate First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
- Read and interpret specifications, drawings, tolerances, and other requirements
- Record inspection and test results on logs, graphs, reports, and into local systems
- Maintain test and measurement equipment and calibration systems
- Evaluate customer returns, and perform internal corrective actions as necessary
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as SDS, blueprints, line drawings, pdf drawings, wiring diagrams, instruction manuals, and procedures.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, flow-chart, or diagram form.
- Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written, and be able to articulate ideas in an understandable manner.
- Capable of communicating quality and engineering criteria/requirements to all levels of factory personnel.
- Must be able to read and perform inspections using assembly instructions and engineering drawings.
- Ability to perform configuration verification of all levels of assemblies/hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and calibrated equipment like calipers, micrometers, scales, ring gages, pin gages and other standard measuring instruments.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Demonstrated ability to interpret assembly drawings and specifications.
- Solid technical and computer skills.
- Detail oriented with understanding of quality-centric practices and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong adaptability, resilience, and grit.
Required Experience:
- Four to six years of related experience and training
- GD & T experience is required
- AS9100 experience desired, but not required
- Experience utilizing various inspection methods and tools
- Root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
