Responsibilities

The Staff Infrastructure Engineer - Production Cloud will bring deep expertise designing and supporting highly-scalable, highly-available infrastructure and applications in the Cloud as well as promoting infrastructure as code in multi-cloud and multi-tenant environments. You will serve as a subject matter expert on all aspects of our cloud operations, automation, and optimizations. You will provide technical leadership in the team as the subject matter expert on cloud deployments for a complex and highly available production system.

In addition, you will debug problems in production and test environments, advise developers on best practices applicable to the environment, and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure. You will develop automation that improves deployment speed and service reliability in the cloud, kubernetes, and containerized environment. You will help mentor other team members and customers on the adoption of new technologies and design principles as well as promote DevOps culture and collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of Multi-Cloud operations and support following industry best practices (e.g. AWS Well Architected Framework) and direct experience in at-scale administration, troubleshooting, and issue remediation in Public and Regulated Cloud Environments (AWS, AWS GovCloud, GCP, Azure, Azure-Jedi)
  • 3+ years CI/CD and Infrastructure Automation Experience with common platforms (Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitOps) and scripting (Terraform, Pulimi, CloudFormation, Ansible, Helm, Python)
  • 5+ years production experience with orchestration systems like Kubernetes, Nomad or Mesos
  • Python/Golang/Java/Ruby as main scripting languages (we use Python)
  • Familiarity with running Java and Javascript applications including build and deploy
  • GCP experience and familiarity with other platforms like AWS, Azure
  • You’ve used Terraform to setup cloud native services
  • Configuration management. Ansible – main tool used internally, Chef and Puppet experience will help
  • Familiarity with CI and practical delivery using any of Travis, CircleCI, Codefresh, Spinnaker, Jenkins or buildkite, familiarity with deployment strategies like blue green, rolling deploys, canary deploys  and best practices around deployment automation (with tools like shipit or spinnaker) is desired
  • Polyglot experience with other SRE tools – we integrate with more tools every day
  • Curiosity, fast-learning, pursuit to improvements, great communication
  • Keeping a pulse on latest SRE trends and Open Source
  • Apart from the above technical skills, following soft skills are desired:
  • Ability to work in a diverse and distributed team is highly desired
  • A self-starter that is passionate and motivated by new technologies and has empathy for legacy systems
  • A quick learner that can navigate through unfamiliar programming languages, systems and processes
  • Prior product building experience is optional but desired
