Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, technically adept Field Engineer with strong experience in API-driven PACS application integrations and troubleshooting complex enterprise integrations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in customer-facing situations, excels in debugging real-world interoperability issues, and can lead deep-dive technical troubleshooting sessions.
While direct experience with Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) is highly desirable, it is not required, as long as you bring a solid background in system integrations, troubleshooting, API workflows, and database interaction. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth and reliable integration between PACS platforms and Ambient’s platform for our customers.
The impact you’ll make:
Lead customer engagements to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex integration issues
Configure and validate system integrations across APIs, middleware, and direct database connections
Proactively investigate and document integration challenges, building a deep understanding of third-party system behaviors and common failure points
Use tools such as Postman, Wireshark, and log analyzers to debug REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, and database queries
Work cross-functionally with developers, solution engineers, and support teams to enhance integration workflows and customer documentation
Build a compatibility interoperability matrix across vendor platforms, versions, and system configurations
Create technical documentation, integration best practices, and internal knowledge bases to broaden capability across the company and customer base
What Success Looks Like:
Rapid resolution of customer integration issues
Reduced support escalations through improved diagnostics and best practices
Improved customer satisfaction and system uptime due to stable, well-documented integrations
Contribution to internal knowledge and training assets for repeatable integrations
The amazing skills you’ll bring to Ambient.ai:
Strong hands-on experience with system integration and enterprise application interoperability
Proven ability to troubleshoot REST/SOAP APIs, analyze payloads, and debug authentication flows
Familiarity with SQL databases, stored procedures, and query optimization
Comfort working with tools like Postman, Wireshark, browser dev tools, and log analysis platforms.
Comfortable installing, configuring, and simulating integration environments
Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows administration, including basic command-line usage for troubleshooting and integration-related tasks
Effective communicator who can lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders
Self-starter with a bias toward action and problem-solving
Preferred Experience
Integration building/troubleshooting experience with any major PACS (Physical Access Control Systems) vendor or ecosystem (Lenel, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, etc.)
Background in physical security, building automation, or enterprise application integrations
Prior work in roles such as Field Application Engineer, Systems Integrator, Solutions Engineer, or Middleware Integrator
