As a mechanical engineer at Plus, you will be responsible for designing and developing new platforms, and maintenance of the existing platforms. The main focus of this role will be to help in designing these platforms as well as assisting industrial design efforts to make the platform ready for customers.
Responsibilities:
Define and Design mechanical hardware and cosmetic solutions
Prepare early design concepts and product architecture
Procure and support prototypes
Help build and improve new and current designs
Work with cross functional teams to define product requirements
Prepare early design concepts, product architecture and thorough documentation
Support BoM creation and release
Support inventory management tasks
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in industrial design for class A surfaces.
Proficiency in CAD (especially in surfacing) is a must.
1-3+ years of hands-on, detailed product design experience
Excellent CAD sculpting skills - complex surfacing, surface analysis etc.
Ability to work with Large CAD assemblies and experience with CAD / PLM BoM
GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings
Experience with vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports
Practical experience working through DFM challenges with external vendors
Preferred Skills
Solidworks, Pdmlink/ Arena knowledge and experience is a plus
Extensive experience using CAD, product design, managing requirements, tracking and resolving issues, and finding resolutions
Ability to work cross functionally with other departments to achieve product goals
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical and manufacturing process experience and engineering development
Ability to travel
