Contribute to key research projects and collaborate on publications, while also identifying and delivering new open-source products and features to support state-of-the-art research in Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Duties and responsibilities include:
● Apply knowledge of modern deep learning and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to identify which products and features would help the AllenNLP team conduct state-of-the-art research.
● Drive adoption of our software engineering tools for deep learning (AllenNLP, Tango, etc.) across the company and in the broader community.
● Apply experience as an author on key publications with engineers and users to make technical decisions for the library.
● Apply strong software engineering skills, particularly around library design, building performant systems, and debugging to establish milestones and coordinate releases of new versions of our software tools for research.
● Apply experience with Python and PyTorch to implement new models and abstractions keep our software concurrent with (and pushing forward) the state of the art.
● Establish and implement best practices for measuring model complexity in a reproducible way.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: A master’s degree (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience: Two years of professional experience in computer engineering, software development, or related occupation.
SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience must include two years of experience with each of the following:
● Building high performance applications with Python;
● Natural language processing;
● Machine learning;
● Deep learning packages, including PyTorch and Tensorflow;
● Building web interfaces to demonstrate model capabilities; and
● Library design, including building performant systems and debugging.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
Basic pay is $148,590 to $228,830 annually for full-time employment.
