Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings):

Software Engineer. Senior. Investigate solutions to customer problems or bugs using new technology and/or algorithms. Develop, document, and demo Proof of Concept solutions. Interact directly with customers to understand new feature requests and/or aid in debugging issues in the test networks or production. Create and document new designs to solve engineering problems. Build consensus for the design by getting it reviewed by the larger cross-functional team. Implement changes to the code base by following the documented Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Create unit test, test tools, and integration tests to verify changes. Support the Quality Engineering team while they are independently verifying changes before deploying to production. Support System Reliability Engineering team in monitoring production, dealing with production issues, and rolling out changes to production. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the United States.[AG0137]

Required Qualification:

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Two (2) years of experience with the following: Programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, and SQL; configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible; cloud deployments such as Linode and Microsoft Azure; algorithms; and scaling concept such as load balancing and rate limiting.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $122970 - $221400; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
