As an Account Executive you will be responsible for generating new business by selling RUBICONSmartCity and its associated products to local governments and private hauling, sweeping, and plowing companies in United States.  You will work closely with your customers as a trusted advisor to deeply understand their unique operational challenges and goals. You will consult with customers on RUBICONSmartCity to evangelize its solutions that will help them reach their goals. You will contribute to the Smart City Team’s business growth in a fast paced, collaborative, and fun atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Develop leads, cultivate a targeted list of prospects and lead sales efforts within targeted industries working closely with other members of the RUBICONSmartCity team
  • Drive net-new opportunities from multiple channels including direct and third-party relationships
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with Rubicon leadership to formulate and execute on a go-to-market strategy
  • Support sales enablement initiatives to create broad awareness across RUBICONSmartCity partners
  • Build go-to-market strategies to differentiate RUBICONSmartCity positioning with government and private hauling, sweeping, and plowing companies
  • Identify and influence key decision-makers at all levels within a municipal organization
  • Play a leadership role/drive pursuits and contribute to the development of proposals
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data working within Salesforce
  • Manage proposal development and make live oral presentations that win new business
  • Represent Rubicon by spending time in the field, and at conferences/policy forums

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of account management or business development work experience required, preferably in selling enterprise SaaS products in to complex public sector clients
  • Prior success as a sales professional, with a proven track record of meeting quota
  • Ability to develop and nurture relationships with executive and senior decision makers
  • Develop and utilize pre-existing network of clients or contacts in the public sector
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively execute tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills via phone, online and in person
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Ability to explain complex, technical concepts in plain language, using diagrams or screenshots to help illustrate details as necessary
  • Previous experience in government, public services, fleet operations, or familiarity with waste operations is a plus
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating complex municipal contracts is a plus
