Immunai is seeking Data Ontologist (Scientist/Scientist II)
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and summarize scientific literature
- Support the definition of new data standards, data models, and terminologies
- Development of structured controlled vocabularies and Ontologies
- Integration of external data standards (e.g., CDISC, MedDRA)
- Implement, leverage, and support metadata and data management solutions and best practices.
- Harmonization of internal and external data with in-house and public ontologies
- Facilitate integration of meta-data into the GENEVESTIGATOR database
- Collaborate frequently with scientists, statisticians, data curators & software developers
- Author and maintain technical and project documentation
- Communicate strategies, ideas, goals, and progress to the collaborating teams
Job Requirements
- MSc / MD / PhD in the field of molecular biology, medical biology, or genomics - a MUST; Master’s degree will be considered with relevant working experience
- Thorough understanding of complex biomedical/biomarker data
- Understanding of a variety of methods used in research, both in vivo and in vitro
- Familiarity with semantic technologies - a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with clinical trial data - is a plus
- Familiarity with RNA biology and next-generation sequencing
- Familiarity with FAIR data management principles
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and platforms (e.g., Protégé, OBO edit)
- Proficiency with Ontology Languages (e.g., OWL, RDF)
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix; bash scripts is a plus
- Programming experience in scripting languages is a plus (e.g., R, Python, Perl)
- Proficiency in written English
