As the Senior Director of Product Design, you will be responsible for driving the user experience and design strategy of our AI-powered SaaS products. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of clinical trials by leading a team of designers, working with cross-functional teams and contributing to the product vision by closely collaborating with the product management team. You will also be responsible for shaping the integration of Generative AI co-pilots across the organization’s broader suite of products. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and success of clinical trials in the life sciences industry.
Responsibilities
- Design Strategy: Develop and execute a design strategy that aligns with our mission of accelerating clinical trials, ensuring a consistent and user-centric design approach for SaaS products built for clinical trial site staff and pharma users.
- Product Vision: Collaborate with product management to contribute to the overall product vision, ensuring that design aligns with business objectives, market needs, and user expectations.
- User-Centric Design: Champion user-centered design principles by conducting user research, gathering insights, and ensuring that product design meets the needs of various stakeholders, including site staff and pharma users.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product designers, providing guidance, support, and professional development to help them excel in their roles.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to ensure design concepts are effectively implemented.
- Product Roadmap: Contribute to the product roadmap by identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement, and helping prioritize design initiatives that align with the product vision and business objectives.
- Design Excellence: Ensure high-quality design deliverables, from wireframes and prototypes to user interfaces and interactive components, while adhering to industry best practices and design standards.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing to gather feedback and make data-driven design decisions for continuous product improvement.
- Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in product design and incorporate them into our products where relevant.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
- 8+ years of proven experience in designing and shipping user-centric products, ideally in the healthcare, life sciences, or AI-driven tech sectors.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and inspiring design teams.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and prototyping tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints.
- A deep understanding of user research methodologies, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for improving patient outcomes
- Ability to travel as required
