The Commercial Operations Supply Chain Management organization is looking for a Senior Manager, Supply Demand Planning. This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to handle the day-to-day uncertainty that comes with the growth profile of a start-up company moving towards commercialization. The successful candidate will have spent considerable time launching new operations and/or new products in an automotive, fleet, or technology product environment! This position requires partnership with Purchasing, Engineering, Fleet, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to implement new processes and handle changes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, grow, and lead the Supply Demand Planning team at Cruise; develop and implement supply demand management for service operations while communicating the vision, roadmap, and standard processes for the team, cross functional partners, and external customers
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders to review demand drivers such as fleet scaling plans, reliability metrics, maintenance requirements, and overall market trend to increase forecast accuracy and ensure supply continuity
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Fleet Operations, and External Business Partners to communicate inventory strategy, establish planning processes, and ensure handoff standard methodologies
  • Strategize holding inventory, safety stock, ordering strategy, and more, while mitigating against excess inventory, out of stock, and obsolescence. Establish, track, and improve critical metrics to achieve strategic goals
  • Lead ERP/MRP implementation for Supply Chain; be a key player in architecting future system process flow, communicating MRP requirements, and ensuring the implementation scales with business needs
  • Partner cross-functionally with Suppliers, Engineering, and Purchasing to set up processes for service BOM accuracy, parts compatibility, supersession management, and PFEP management
  • Lead coordination efforts for program launches and fleet ramp planning cycles including running supply risk meetings, setting up initial launch quantities, ensuring service readiness, and driving coordination between operations, supply chain, and suppliers
  • Successful implementation and maintenance of demand-planning processes and initiatives across regions, business units and product families
  • Partner with Finance and Planning to support budget and capital planning processes
  • Present supply and demand recommendations to leadership, drive timely decisions, and ensure clear and concise communication to all collaborators in the supply chain, based on demand planning scenarios, business forecast and product transitions
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to design, develop, and deploy elastic supply chain models that ensure we are insulated from a variety of risks
  • Develop supply and demand models that seek to minimize total costs and inventories while maintaining/improving service levels, and present recommendations to leadership, drive decisions, and ensure clear and concise communication to all partners in the supply chain
  • Scale the Team: Design and staff the Planning organization to effectively support operations in current and projected markets
  • Lead Demand Planning for service demand: Using a global demand forecast, create / monitor / update a global demand plan to support new production and service demand
  • Lead Supply Planning: Define, monitor, update and optimize quantities of input parts / procured finished subassemblies to support production plans while protecting against demand and lead time variability

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10+ years of professional experience including experience in supply & demand management, materials management, supply chain, or product planning
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business/statistics; demand planning certifications or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience with MRP/ERP is a must
  • Robust quantitative skills and proficiency with analytical tools
  • Ability to work optimally with people cross-functionally, at all levels in an organization
  • Executive communication with an ability to tell a story with data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive management and large, cross-functional groups
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operation decision-making
  • Track record of identifying, developing, and promoting talent.
  • Experience delivering planning excellence in demanding environments
  • Experience in planning of NPI launches, product ramp, sustaining support, and end-of-life cycle in a large-scale environment.
  • Experience setting vision and implementing reliably. Proven experience in hiring, training, and developing supply chain planning teams.
  • Experience in cross functional partnership and enabling the success of others.
  • Experience redefining business systems, models, and achieving results relative to goals. Demonstrated skills questioning the norm, thinking out-of-bounds, and delivering.
  • Proficient with analysis of large data sets: Able to extract useful trends and craft action plans from inputs from a global network of operations sites.
  • Proficient in advanced MS Excel features: Queries, Power Pivots..
